Healthy and tasty Indian whole wheat flatbread

Preparation time-20mins

Cooking time-10mins



  • Fenugreek leaves- 2 cup chopped
  • Whole wheat flour-4 cup
  • Clarified butter
  • Salt
  • Sesame oil
  • Carom seeds-1/4 tsp
  • Ginger powder-1tsp
  • Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder-1tsp


1. Wash properly the fenugreek leaves,pluck only leaves from stem.

2. In chopping board finely chop fenugreek leaves and shift in a bowl.

3. Add whole wheat flour,red chilli powder,ginger powder,cumin powder,salt,carom seeds,sesame oil,mixup properly.

4. Add lukewarm water and make a dough,after making dough spread little bit of sesame oil on the dough,cover it and leave for 30 minutes.

5. After 30 minutes make balls from the dough,spread whole wheat flour on the surface and roll the ball,make a flat bread.

6. Spread clarified butter on the flat bread,make layered paratha and fold it first time .and second time fold it again.

7. Make all balls in this method,again spread flour on the surface,and roll all the folded balls into flat bread.

8. Heat a pan or tava,place the paratha on it on medium flame.

9. When one side is cooked flip it and wait for another side to be cooked.

10. After that spread clarified butter on one side ,when it is golden brown flip the paratha ,again spread clarified butter and fry it.

11. Make all methi parathas in this method.

12. Serve hot and enjoy healthy, tasty paratha with curd or pickles.
